Pet Aid Community Animal Behaviour
Supporting owners with their pet’s behaviour at home, Community Advice Hubs and referrals from our Inspectors.
What is Pet Aid Community Animal Behaviour?
Our Pet Aid Community Animal Behaviour Team was introduced in 2025 to help people and pets so they can stay together – if staying together is in the best interests of the person and the animal.
Your support helped keep 16,697 owners and pets together in 2024.
What do Community Animal Behaviourists do?
Our Community Animal Behaviourists support people with post adoption and foster advice and attend Community Advice Hubs offering advice and support to those who desperately need it. Our prevention work centres around our aim to keep people and pets together by addressing behaviour issues early.
Behaviour advice can be expensive. We can help you so you don’t have to make the difficult decision to surrender your pet if you are not coping with a behaviour issue.
How Can You Get Help from the Community Animal Behaviourist Team?
When our Inspectors are visiting people in their homes, they may recognise a need for a referral to be made to a Community Animal Behaviourist to help the situation. If you are struggling, you can speak to advisors on our Animal Helpline on 03000 999 999 who are trained to refer cases.
You can also check if there is a Community Advice Hub coming soon to your area where you can speak to the team and receive the advice you need.
Abandoning animals is never the answer.
If you are struggling to look after your pet or find yourself in a position where you think you might have to surrender your pet, please call our Animal Helpline on 03000 999 999.
