Trusts and Foundations

We turn your compassion into lasting change for animals in need across Scotland.

Partnering with trusts and foundations for Scotland’s animals

We’re grateful to every trust and foundation that has supported the rescue and protection of pets, wildlife and farmed animals, and helped us address the most pressing issues in animal welfare today.

We are committed to working collaboratively with funders to explore how your aims align with ours. As a funder of the Scottish SPCA you will receive updates on how we’re using your generous funding, bringing you closer to our work and ensuring you fully understand how you have made a difference to animals across Scotland.

Find the right opportunity to support the breadth of work we do

The breadth of our work we do provides trusts and foundations with a wealth of opportunities.

Core operations
A number of trusts have kindly contributed to veterinary costs at a centre of their choice, recognising that we deal with the worst cases of cruelty and neglect, bringing dozens of animals into our care every week in need of urgent veterinary care. This funding enables our teams to relieve the suffering of innocent animals and begin preparing them for new, loving, forever homes.
We have also gratefully received funding towards our unique wildlife hospital. Our National Wildlife Rescue Centre in Clackmannanshire is the largest of its kind in Scotland, with a team of dedicated vets and animal care experts. Every year they lovingly rehabilitate and release thousands of birds, mammals and waterfowl, giving them a second chance in the wild, where they belong.
Specific projects

Thanks to funding from a trust, this year we will update the HVAC system in the cattery at our largest centre, to help ensure a clean and healthy environment for our feline residents and our staff. Ongoing maintenance of our centres is essential but costly and we welcome support to keep our facilities in good condition for the animals in our care.

Long-term programmes

As we saw an increase in animals with behavioural issues coming into our care, we built a small team of animal behaviour experts. A programme has been developed across all of our centres with excellent results, and we continue to identify improvements and upskill staff. We are extremely grateful to the trusts that helped fund the development of this programme and cover ongoing costs, so that we can give animals who, through no fault of their own, need extra help in their rehabilitation and rehoming journey.

Providing vital support

We receive no government funding, therefore the support of trusts and foundations is vital to our work to help animals in crisis right now and to our long-term vision of making Scotland the best place in the world for an animal to call home.
