Donation/Food Stock Administrator
We need your help in our centres to keep our donations and food stock in good order and ensure effective stock rotation.
Why we want you
We need your help in our centres to keep our donations and food stock in good order and ensure effective stock rotation. You will also be responsible for sorting, cleaning and storing donated items as well as keeping the storage areas for donations/ food stock clean and tidy.
Please note: this role does not involve any contact with the animals in our care.
How much time do you need to be able to give?
What will you be doing?
- Assist with the sorting of donations and other food stocks
- Organise food by date and brand to maintain good stock rotation
- Assist with cleaning of donated non-food items, which can include using a washing machine/ dryer to clean items such as towels, blankets and soft toys, as well as handwashing and/or disinfecting e.g plastic or metal items
- Assist with organising and maintaining other storage areas as necessary
- Prepare Pet Aid food and essentials donations from items identified by the staff team as suitable, ready for transportation to local food banks
- Dispose of unsuitable donated items in the appropriate waste facilities at the Centre (recycling suitable materials, where possible)
What skills do you need?
- Practical experience of stock rotation (although training will be given)
- Good organisations skills and the ability to work under your own initiative
- A good awareness of health & safety requirements in relation to your role
- A reasonable level of fitness and mobility, as the role involves lifting and bending
- A flexible approach to tasks
- Willingness to follow instructions given
