We have issued an appeal after a stray cat was found in Mount Vernon Park, Glasgow.

We were alerted to the incident after a member of the public discovered the black and white male cat on the afternoon of 25 November.

Scottish SPCA Chief Inspector Lara Vickery said “The cat was found in the park and was taken to the local vet.  He was unfortunately not microchipped but was in good condition.

“The cat was neutered and has clearly been looked after and we’re sure someone is missing him.

“If you find an animal that you think might be a stray, we would advise monitoring before lifting to see if it does belong to someone.

“The cat is in the care of our Glasgow Animal Rescue and Rehoming centre and we are keen to return this feline directly to their owners.

“If anyone recognises this kitty, please contact our confidential animal helpline on 03000 999 999.”
