We are appealing for information after a Guinea pig was found on Saturday 3 June at Polmaise Crescent, Fallin in Stirling.

The white, black and brown male Guinea pig was found in the garden of a property.

Scottish SPCA animal rescue officer, Kelly McGuire, said: “We received a call to our animal helpline about an injured Guinea pig wandering in a garden.

“We went out to investigate and found the male Guinea pig, who had an injury to his eye.

“We took him to our veterinary clinic to be assessed and he is now safe in the care of one of our animal rescue and rehoming centres.

“We know times are tough for a lot of people at the moment but this is not the way to give up a pet if you can no longer care for them. This would have been a very distressing experience for the animal and he was lucky to have been found when he was.

“If anyone recognises this Guinea pig, they should call our confidential helpline on 03000 999 999.”
