Why we want you

We need help to transport domestic animals who are being fostered or are ready to be rehomed. This will involve transporting animals to and from our rescue and rehoming centres, foster homes, vet practices or taking them to their new homes. Additionally, we may also need help with organising and delivering supplies to foster homes to ensure animals have everything they need whilst being looked after.

To be able to carry out this role you must able to get to one of the rescue & rehoming centres in the West of Scotland (Dunbartonshire, Lanarkshire and Glasgow) where you will use an SSPCA vehicle to transport the animals or supplies. You must have a full UK driving licence. We will require a DVLA share code as part of the application process. All fuel expenses will be reimbursed.

What you will be doing

  • Transport domestic animals to/from Dunbartonshire, Lanarkshire and Glasgow rescue & rehoming centres
  • Transport animals safely and securely to foster homes, vet practices or new homes
  • Handling animals safely and with care
  • Collect, organise and transport supplies to foster homes
  • Maintain relevant manual records accurately
  • Undertake general admin tasks, as required

The skills you need

  • Practical experience of working with animals
  • A strong interest in animal welfare
  • Sound driving skills
  • A flexible approach to carrying out duties within specified shifts
  • Self motivated and reliable
