Why we want you

We need you to help our dedicated Animal Care Assistants in providing a caring and safe environment for the dogs in our centre. You will be involved ensuring that their accommodation is always clean and hygienic, and assist in grooming, exercising and providing enrichment activities for specified animals. Full training will be provided and you will always have the support of our staff in carrying out your duties.

What you will be doing

  • Help us to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in our
    kennels/ dog accommodation
  • Assist with brushing, bathing, exercising and providing enrichment activities for the dogs in our care, as directed by our staff
  • Providing sensory garden/ exercise paddock sessions
  • Undertake all associated manual data recording
  • Assist with any other general cleaning and maintenance duties

The skills you need

  • Compassionate, patient and caring, with a strong interest in animal welfare
  • Previous experience with dogs of different breeds and sizes would be preferable
  • You must be a good listener and able to follow instructions well
  • You should be flexible in your approach, as there will be times when contact with the dogs is minimal
  • Ability to bend and lift as required in caring for the dogs
