The Scottish SPCA is appealing for information after a male dog was handed in to their Lanarkshire Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre on 17 May with a recently docked tail.
We were alerted to the incident when a member of the public handed the brindle lurcher in to the centre after finding him on Meadowhead Road in the Craigneuk area of Wishaw.
Scottish SPCA inspector, Jack Marshall, said, “The dog is a male, brindle lurcher.
“He is in very poor condition and his tail appears to recently have been amputated.
“The dog is chipped to an address in Newcastle but unfortunately these details appear to be out of date.
“We believe that he may have come from the Bellshill area.
“We are urging anyone who recognises this dog, or has any information to please contact our confidential animal helpline on 03000 999 999.”
