Gift Aid

Gift Aid is a brilliant way to make your support for animals in need go that little bit further. If you are able to get Gift Aid, we’re able to claim an extra 25% on every donation you make at no extra cost to you!

What is Gift Aid?

It’s a great way to give more. Gift Aid means we received an extra 25p in every £1 from HMRC if the donation comes from a UK taxpayer. This comes at no extra cost to you.

If you donate £20 with Gift Aid, we’re able to claim an extra £5. This means your total donation is £25 – and that extra £5 is the equivalent of providing a warm bed for a dog in need!

Are you eligible for Gift Aid?

You can add Gift Aid to your donations if you have paid enough income tax or capital gains tax for each year (6 April to 5 April) that is at least equal to the amount of tax all the charities or community amateur sports clubs you donate to will reclaim on your gifts for that tax year. Taxes such as VAT and council tax do not qualify. The Scottish SPCA will reclaim 25p of tax for each £1 given.

How to claim Gift Aid?

Claiming Gift Aid is simple.  When you donate to us, complete a Gift Aid Declaration form and we’ll be able to claim the additional money from HMRC.
