Home appeal for giant rabbits

The Scottish SPCA is desperate to find a home for two beautiful giant rabbits currently in the care of their Aberdeenshire Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre.

The centre has been caring for buns Claire and Katie for almost 300 days, but sadly they have continued to be overlooked.

Centre manager, Louise Griese, said, “Claire and Katie came in to our care after their owner sadly passed away.

“They were loved so much in their previous home that they initially didn’t cope well with the change in environment when they came to our centre.

“With a regular routine and their own room they have now settled well.

“We would love to find them an experienced and patient home to call their own.

“Claire will happily eat treats out of your hand and enjoys head strokes, however Katie would rather bop you with her nose until you move. They both love eating lots of fresh fruit and veggies.

“Katie and Claire are used to living indoors, and will require a very large area so that they have room to exhibit all of their natural behaviours.

“Despite their size, they are quite sensitive creatures and their new owners will need to continue to build their confidence.

“This duo would prefer not to be rehomed with other rabbits, but could live with older children.

“Katie and Claire would make a fantastic addition to the right family.”

If you would like to give Katie and Claire their forever home, please apply via the Scottish SPCA website: https://www.scottishspca.org/rehome-a-pet/7538-claire-and-katie
