Experienced home needed for loving collie

The Scottish SPCA is seeking a home for a border collie in the care of its Angus, Fife and Tayside Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre.

We are hoping to find Jarvis an experienced and patient home as he isn’t coping well in the kennel environment.

Centre assistant manager, Dale Christie, said, “Jarvis is a handsome border collie who is looking for a new home to call his own.

“True to his breed, Jarvis is a very active dog. He is a very intelligent and is always on the go.

“He will therefore require an owner who has previous border collie experience and can provide the mental and physical stimulation he needs to remain happy and healthy, including lots of fun long walks!

“Jarvis is a very loving dog who absolutely adores a cuddle and some biscuits. It can take him a minute or two to warm to new people but, once he does, he is always ready for some attention!

“Jarvis is showing signs of being reactive towards traffic. However, he has been responding well to his training programme here at the centre and is improving every day. Any potential new owner will need to continue this training.

“He socialises well with other dogs and we feel he could potentially go to a home with another canine companion pending a successful introduction at our centre.

“He has lots of energy so will need a large, enclosed garden with a 6ft fence as he loves to run, jump and play.

“He would be best suited to an adult-only home with no small animals.

“Jarvis is such a lovely boy and we are desperate to find him a new home. He really isn’t coping in the kennel environment and is sadly starting to injure himself.

“Anyone interested in giving Jarvis a loving home can apply on our website.”
