Appeal for blankets for animals in Dunbartonshire

We are appealing to animal lovers to donate blankets for cats and dogs in the care of our Dunbartonshire Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre.

Items can be dropped directly at the centre reception between 1pm and 4pm daily, purchased from the Amazon wish list or via any other online retailer offering direct delivery.

Centre manager, Ally Bibby, said, “We are in need of blankets to keep the animals in our care comfortable while they wait for their forever homes.

“These blankets are used in the cat and dog beds to keep animals like Peach cosy and content.

“We can accept new blankets from retailers or used blankets as long as they are in good condition with no tears or holes and have been freshly laundered. We can also accept homemade knitted or crocheted blankets as long as they are tightly woven without large holes in them.

“Unfortunately, we can’t accept pillows or duvets as they are too easily destroyed and the stuffing can be harmful to animals if they ingest it.

“Your support means that we can continue to provide the best care for the cats and dogs at our centre.

“We’d be so grateful for any donations that people can spare and we know Peach and the other 128 animals in our care will be too.”
