The Scottish SPCA is appealing for information after a sick kitten was found abandoned at the side of Dumfries Road in Elvanfoot, Biggar, on 27 July.

Scottish SPCA animal rescue officer, Aidan McIver, said, “The kitten is male and is estimated to be just eight weeks old.

“He was quite poorly when he was found, and has a bad eye infection.

“He is grey in colour and is not microchipped.

“He is very friendly which is unusual for a feral kitten. This leads us to believe that this is a pet who has been abandoned.

“We understand that the cost of vet bills can be worrying, but this is not the correct way to give up your animal.

“If anyone recognises this kitten or has any information on this incident they can contact our confidential animal helpline on 03000 999 999.”
