We are appealing to animal lovers for donations of essential items for the Guina pigs, rabbits and ferrets in the care of our Ayrshire and South West Scotland Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre.

The centre is running low on enrichment items to help care for animals like Twix the rabbit and Rowan and Maple the Guinea pigs. Items can be purchased from the centre’s Amazon wish list or via any other online retailer offering direct delivery to the centre.

Centre manager, Lynda Hourston, said, “We are in need of enrichment items for the ten ferrets, seven Guinea pigs and seven rabbits in our care.

“Guinea pigs Rowan and Maple both came into our care pregnant. These essential items keep animals like them and their babies happy and healthy while they wait for their forever homes.

“Small animals are highly intelligent and need lots of toys and enrichment to keep them stimulated.

“Your support means we can continue to provide the best care for our animals until they find their forever homes.

“We’d be so grateful for any donations and we know our small animals will be too!”

Items can be donated via the centre’s Amazon wish list here: https://amzn.to/3T4fN0B or sent from another online retailer that can deliver. Items can also be handed in daily between 1pm and 4pm to the reception at the Scottish SPCA, Millview, Mainholm Road, Ayr, KA6 5HD.
