Help keep animals and people together
through the cost-of-living crisis
We know the cost-of-living crisis has been hard for everyone.
As the crisis deepens, we’ve seen calls to our animal helpline treble as people begin to consider the unthinkable – giving up their beloved pet.
We believe that, even in a cost-of-living crisis, you can’t put a price on love. That’s why we want to keep people and their pets together whatever it takes.
The Scottish SPCA doesn’t receive any government funding so we are doing all of this vital work thanks to donations from our wonderful supporters.
This increased demand on our services comes at a time when people have less disposable income to give to charity and our own costs are rising. Prices of vet supplies, food, and the cost of running our fleet of vehicles have all increased. Our fixed term fuel contract will end later this year and we are concerned about running and heating our 10 centres.
If you can spare it, we’d ask that you donate just £3 to our urgent cost-of-living appeal to support people and their pets through this crisis.
A one-off donation today of as little as £3 could help us
- Provide pet food, treats and other essential items to food bank users who are caring for a pet.
- Provide advice and support via our helpline to someone who’s struggling with the costs of caring for an animal.
- Keep our inspectorate and animal rescue officers on the road, providing support to vulnerable people and animals in the community.
- Support our animal rescue and rehoming centres as they near capacity due to unwanted animals.
- Run our fostering programme to get animals out of kennels and into homes faster
We know times are tough but anything you can spare would make a real difference to people and their pets facing an unprecedented crisis.
