About the Highlands and Islands Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre
The Highlands and Islands Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre (ARRC) opened in 2001 and was refurbished in 2012. The Centre covers a vast and diverse geographical area, providing refuge to animals in need from Inverness and surrounding areas as well as many animals rescued from Scotland’s most remote places.
The Highlands and Islands ARRC has:
- 20 dog kennels, including an isolation area to treat canines with diseases
- Cattery with space for 14 cats or kittens, with an isolation zone
- Vivarium for reptiles
- Small animal room which can accommodate 15
- Space for 3 birds or cockerels
- Safe, secure wildlife shed for injured animals until they can be moved to the National Wildlife Rescue Centre for treatment.
