Why do we need animal fosterers?
Many of our animals don’t cope well within the environment of our Centres. Some have come from situations where they may not have been well socialised with people or other animals, and others may never have experienced the care and affection they deserve.
In these situations, we know that quickly moving animals into a home environment is the best thing for them. Not only does it give them much needed love and affection, it also builds their confidence and teaches them new behaviours that will improve their chance of finding their new forever home.
We appreciate fostering an animal is a huge commitment but we know it can also be a very rewarding experience. Fostering not only enriches the lives of the animals we care for but also the lives of those who are fostering.
Becoming an animal fosterer
If you decide to become a fosterer, we will provide you with lots of training and support. You’ll get a Starter Pack containing everything you need for the safety and comfort of your foster animal during their stay with you. We will provide food, cover the costs of any veterinary treatment and our team will be on hand to ensure you have all the support you need.
We have a variety animals across Scotland who would hugely benefit by going to a foster home. These include:
- Dogs
- Indoor cats
- Pups
- Kittens
