Their rescue was just the beginning. Now they need your help.

Right now, almost 50 puppies are relying on us for food, vital veterinary treatment, specialist care and everything they need to recover.

As Scotland’s only all-animal charity, the Scottish SPCA relies on donations from people like you to make that care possible. Taking in so many puppies at once has placed an unexpected and significant demand on our resources – and we urgently need your help.

Please donate today. Your gift could help us give these puppies the care they desperately need, while helping us be there for the next animal who needs us.

With your support, we can give these puppies the chance of the happy, healthy lives they deserve – and continue our work to protect puppies from the low-welfare puppy trade.

The fight against the puppy trade isn’t over

We’re working hard to disrupt the low-welfare puppy trade in Scotland, but the demand for puppies has not gone away.

Puppies continue to be brought into Scotland to be sold for profit, with their welfare put at risk.

As long as there is demand for puppies bought quickly, often online and without the recommended checks being carried out, there will be people willing to exploit that demand.

That is why responsible puppy buying matters.

Anyone thinking about buying a puppy should take their time, do their research and never feel pressured into making a purchase. You should always see a puppy with its mother in the place where they were bred, ask questions and check the relevant paperwork.

When puppies come into our care, our work is only beginning. They need food, veterinary treatment, specialist care and time to recover.

We give them everything we can to help them go on to have the happy, healthy lives they deserve.

But caring for so many puppies at once comes at a significant cost.

Please donate today.

Your support can help us care for the puppies we’ve already rescued, fight for those still caught up in this horrific trade and continue disrupting the people who profit from their suffering.
