Gift Aid
Gift Aid is a simple way to make your donation go further, at no extra cost to you.
If you’re a UK taxpayer, Gift Aid allows you to claim an extra 25p for every £1 you donate. That means a £20 donation becomes £25, helping us do even more of the work you care about.
How it works
When you make a donation, you can choose to add Gift Aid. By doing this, you’re confirming that you’ve paid enough UK Income Tax or Capital Gains Tax in that tax year to cover the amount we’ll reclaim.
Why it matters
Gift Aid makes a real difference to the work we do rescuing, protecting and advocating for Scotland’s animals.
The extra income helps us:
Rescue animals from horrendous abuse and acts of cruelty and investigate serious animal-related crimes
Rehabilitate animals in our care, giving them the attention they deserve, ready for their forever home
Advocate for better standards and laws to protect Scotland’s animals
Am I eligible for Gift Aid?
You can add Gift Aid to your donations if:
You are a UK taxpayer.
You have paid enough tax to cover the Gift Aid claimed on your donations.
If you are unsure, it’s always best to check with HMRC or seek financial advice.
The details you need to give
To claim Gift Aid, we’ll need your name and home address including postcode. This means HMRC can identify you as a taxpayer.
Keep us updated on any changes
Please do let us know if:
Your name or address changes.
You no longer pay enough tax to cover your donations.

Thank you for choosing to support the Scottish SPCA. By adding Gift Aid, you’re helping to make an even bigger impact.
Wild lives across Scotland need your support
Last year alone we saw 4,514 arrivals to our National Wildlife Rescue Centre. We depend on donations to keep our doors open. Your support could be the reason the next wild animal survives. Every £1 matters to Scotland’s wildlife in our care.
