Our busy Reception area often needs volunteers to help with duties including giving a friendly greeting to members of the public, staff and visiting contractors.
Why we need you
Our busy Reception area often needs volunteers to help with duties including giving a friendly greeting to members of the public, staff and visiting contractors; answering the telephone and transferring calls and general administrative duties.
Please note: This role does not involve working hands-on with the animals in our care.
How much time do you need to be able to give?
A minimum of 8 hours per month – for example two half days per month.
What will you be doing?
- Greet all visitors warmly and professionally and assist with their enquiries
- Answer the reception desk telephone and transfer calls, take messages etc as appropriate
- General word processing duties as directed by staff
- General administrative duties such as dealing with mail, scanning etc
- Undertake home check discussions with members of the public who are looking to rehome an animal with us.
What skills do you need?
- A smart appearance and good, friendly manner, both face-to-face and on the telephone
- Practical customer service experience
- Practical experience of working in a busy office environment
- Basic world processing and I.T skills
- Resilient and calm in your approach
