Male black cat who was found in rucksack in East Kilbride

We are appealing for information after a cat was found in a rucksack in East Kilbride.

We were alerted to the incident after a member of the public found the cat in a rucksack in the Murray area on 9 August.

Inspector Dawn Murrie said, “The cat is a black, male, domestic short-haired type.

“He was found on the footpath between Galt Place and Murrayhill inside a black Reebok rucksack.

“The member of the public who found him took him home to keep him safe while they waited for our help.

“Unfortunately, he is not microchipped and was not wearing a collar when he was found.

“He appears to be healthy and has been very friendly and affectionate with our staff.

“If anyone recognises this cat we would ask that they contact our confidential animal helpline on 03000 999 999.”
