Our first ever MuttStrut is set to be an absolutely paw-some event where you and your canine chums can walk, jog, toddle or dance your way around the beautiful shores of Lochore Meadows.
Spring is an exciting time of year for dogs, the days are getting longer and there are lots of new smells and animals about. As owners, we have a responsibility to ensure the safety of our pets, other countryside users, livestock and wild animals. At the Mutt Strut we’ll be guiding you through The Scottish Outdoor Access Code and your responsibilities and role as a countryside user, as well as your rights to explore the rural areas of our beautiful country.
Starting with a pack 5k walk around Lochore Meadows, and finishing at the beach - a favourite spot for many dogs! There will also be a chance to speak to local companies who specialise in a range of dog care services and canine social groups. It’ll be a day your dogs will be woofing about for weeks after!
Lochore Meadows Country Park, Crosshill, Lochgelly, KY5 8BA.
Parking is free and disabled parking is available.
Sunday 24 March 2019
Registration opens at 1pm on the green outside of the Education & Visitor Centre (next to the beach) with the walk beginning at 2pm.
Everyone! The 5k route is mostly flat with a newly refurbished path to accommodate easier wheelchair and buggy access. There is a small section of uphill path that runs through the agricultural field, neighbouring the park with cow gates - on this section wheelchair assistance would be advised. Terrain mobility scooters are available to hire from the Lochore Meadows’ Visitor and Education Centre for a small donation.
£12.50 per adult
Children under 12 and dogs go free
As Scotland’s animal welfare charity, we’ve been helping animals for 180 years – that’s 1,260 dog years! We’re committed to supporting the welfare of all animals and without our supporters there wouldn’t be a Scottish SPCA – and there would be no one to help the thousands of animals we rescue every year.
Those who sign up will be sent a fundraising pack with a materials request form and details should you wish to raise a little extra for Scotland’s animals.
Your complimentary Scottish SPCA t-shirt can be requested before the event or collected on the day.
We’re looking for volunteers to come along and help on the day with a variety of tasks including registration, first aid, handing out medals and dog bones at the finish line! If you are interested in volunteering at this event, or would like more information, please contact email@example.com or call 03000 999 999 (option 4).
