Handsome Derek was found as a stray. He is now ready to find his forever family.
This lovely lad is very friendly and is excited to see everyone he meets. He can get vocal when he becomes over excited. He walks well on lead and has interacted well with other dogs here at the centre, though his body language can be a bit tense. Due to this we think it would be best he was homed as an only dog and he could have dog friends out on walks.
Derek has got a low grade heart murmur which has only been detectable under general anaesthetic. This will need to be taken in to consideration by his new owners and will be discussed further with any adopters.
He is looking for a home which can offer him a comfy sofa to snuggle up on and plenty of affection. He would ideally suit a home with someone who is about for the majority of the day. Due to his limited background information he is looking for a home with older children. From his behaviour in the kennels we do think he may be toilet trained however this is not guaranteed and accidents should be expected while he settles in to his new home.
