Chevy is a handsome Rottweiler X Boxer looking for an experienced new home.
When he meets new people he can be nervous and unsure and he can react by barking. However, once he gets to know you he is very playful.
Chevy doesn't realise his size and when playing he can get very bouncy and boisterous and can become mouthy like a big puppy. It can take him a while to calm down when he gets overexcited. Due to this he will need an adult only home and an owner who will be able to continue to teach him some manners.
He has come a long way with his training since arriving in our care, however he will need to be rehomed with someone who has the time and patience to continue training. He does walk well on his lead, however when he is in a new environment or if he sees another dog he can become very strong and it can take a bit of time to regain his focus and attention. Therefore he will need a strong and confident new owner.
Although improving, he can still be unsure around other dogs particularly if passing them closely or if the other dog is vocal. He will be best suited to life in a quieter/rural area where he can slowly continue his socialisation without becoming overwhelmed by new people and other dogs.
He will need to be kept on a lead when out for walks and as a result a large, private and secure garden where he can run around is a must.
Chevy is clever boy and is keen to learn but due to his size and nature he will need a new home with large breed experience. His new owner will also need to have experience with challenging behaviours.
He will be best suited to a calm and quiet home with a confident couple or single person so that he can continue to thrive.
Can you offer Chevy the experienced home that he needs?
