We are appealing for information following the abandonment of a canary at a bus stop in Ayr.
We were alerted to the incident after a member of the public found the canary on 21 November.
Marion Hainey, manager of our animal rescue and rehoming centre in Ayr, said, “The canary was found in a cage inside a bag for life at a bus stop opposite the Pets At Home.
“He’s a bright yellow canary and we’ve nicknamed him Sunny.
“If anyone recognises this bird, please contact us as we are keen to identify those responsible for abandoning Sunny."
