The Scottish SPCA celebrated their annual Rehoming Week earlier this month (13 – 19 May) and launched the celebrations with a community open day at its centres across Scotland.
We were overwhelmed by the support shown from local businesses, vendors, volunteers and supporters who attended the events at out centres across Scotland.
Animal rescue centre superintendent, Sharon Comrie, said, “The open days were a huge success. With the support from local communities throughout the country we raised over an incredible £18,000.
“We are so grateful for all the support shown to us, from donations of raffle prizes to those who volunteered to help out on the day.
“Our centres had bouncy castles, agility displays, food stands and so much more! It was heart-warming to see the local communities come out and support us and we can’t wait to do it again next year.”
As an animal welfare charity the Scottish SPCA receive no government funding. Find out more about fundraising here.
