Scottish SPCA appeal for information after dozing goose found in garden in Wishaw

The Scottish SPCA is appealing for information after a sleepy goose was found in a garden in Wishaw.

We were alerted on 6 July to the young bird on who was found in the shared area on Cambusnethan Street.

Animal rescue officer Sarah Parker said, “We were notified by a member of the public who discovered the goose in the shared garden at the back of the block of flats.

“We suspect he is an Embden goose that is relatively young as he is quite fluffy.

“He was taking a nap at the bottom of the stairs when the caller found him, so he didn’t seem too worried that he might be lost!

“It’s a built up area so we think he’s probably found himself quite far from home and hope someone might be missing him.

“He is currently in the care of our Lanarkshire Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre.

“If anyone recognises the bird, we would urge them to contact our animal helpline on 03000 999 999.”
