The Scottish SPCA is appealing to Dunbartonshire animal lovers to help feed scores of unwanted, abandoned and neglected dogs being cared for at the charity’s Milton-based centre.
Staff at our Dunbartonshire Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre on Dumbarton Road are currently looking after 46 dogs and food supplies are in constant high demand.
Centre Manager Joe McDade is appealing to kind hearted locals to donate. He said, “We're going through a lot of food at the moment as we have such a large number of abused, abandoned and injured dogs in our care.
“We have a particular need for Chappie meat and any donations would be greatly appreciated.
“Last year we took in nearly 400 dogs and this year is proving to be equally as challenging, so if the public could get behind our appeal it would be fantastic.
“They’ll be helping dogs like one year old Woody, a sweet crossbreed who loves meeting new people.
“We’re sure local animal lovers would like to play their part in helping the rehabilitation of rescued dogs.
“Anyone who hands in food is more than welcome to have a look round the centre and say hello to some of the dogs they’ll be helping us feed.”
Donations can be donated via our Amazon wish list http://amzn.eu/cCTezw7 or handed into the centre in Dumbarton which is located on Dumbarton Road, Milton G82 2UA.
