Help Dumbarton’s bored dogs

The Scottish SPCA is asking animal lovers of Dunbartonshire to donate ‘Nylabone’ chews to help keep dogs in their care healthy and occupied.

nylabonesWe are caring for many energetic canines who have been rescued or born in our care.

Our Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre in Dumbarton is finding it difficult to keep up with the demand of chew toys as dogs can destroy them quickly whilst in a kennel environment.

Centre Manager Joe McDade said, “We’re struggling to keep the dogs occupied at the moment with something that they won’t destroy within two minutes.

“Some of the dogs in our care suffer badly from kennel stress which can lead to them destroying toys and swallowing parts which can be dangerous.

“We would really appreciate any donations of ‘dura chew’ Nylabones as we have found that our dogs can’t destroy them like other toys.

“We hope kind-hearted locals will get behind our appeal as it would make lots of dogs very happy.

“If anyone wants to donate to our centre they can do so by dropping by anytime between 10am and 4pm seven days a week.”

Donations can be donated via our Amazon wish list or handed into the centre in Dumbarton which is located on Dumbarton Road, Milton G82 2UA.
