Appeal for information after matted dog found straying in Glasgow

We are appealing for information after a matted lhasa apso type dog was found straying near Pets at Home on Drumchapel Road in Glasgow.

matted dog2We were alerted to the dog by a member of the public on 22 November.

Judy Button, manager of our animal rescue and rehoming centre in Dumbarton, said, “We are currently caring for a male lhasa apso type dog who came to us in a pretty sorry state.

“His fur was badly matted and overgrown, making it difficult to determine his exact breed, and he was quite smelly.

“A dog of this type requires regular grooming and maintenance of their coat. “This is a duty a responsible owner should provide.

“He is now in the safe hands of our team here at the centre in Dumbarton, who are calling him Amrose.

“If anyone recognises him we’d urge them to contact us as we are keen to identify his owner.”

Anyone with any information about Amrose is being urged to contact our animal helpline on 03000 999 999.
