Help care for animals, raise funds and lots more!
The Scottish SPCA has launched an urgent appeal for cat food due to the record-breaking number of cats at its centre in Glasgow.
We are urgently appealing for donations of adult cat meat for our Glasgow Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre.
We are currently caring for over 160 cats and demand for food is at an all-time high.
Centre Manager Anna O’Donnell said, “The number of cats in our care at the minute is a record for the centre.
“We are struggling to keep up with the amount of food we are going through.
“Space in our cattery is at capacity. We have several multipurpose rooms which are all being used as catteries.
“Our resources are stretched beyond our means at the moment and we’ve had to rely on our colleagues at other centres to help us out with food. Any help members of the public can provide would be very much appreciated.
“We are looking for any adult cat meat, in sachets or tins.
“If anyone can spare wet cat food, this will be incredibly useful keeping all these mouths fed and allow us to continue providing the care they need.”
Food can be dropped into the centre from 10am to 12pm and 1pm to 4pm (closed Tuesdays) at 125 Kinnell Avenue, Cardonald, Glasgow, G52 3RY or donated via our Amazon wishlist.
