Scottish SPCA holds coffee morning for seniors in Dunbartonshire to meet staff and animals

The Scottish SPCA is inviting seniors to join them for a coffee morning at their Dunbartonshire Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre.

We are holding the second O.A.Tea event on 22 October, after the success of the launch last month.

Assistant manager of the centre, Kim Mackrell, said, “We are welcoming mature visitors for a second time to come and meet our team and some of the animals in our care.

“Our first event was a lovely, sociable morning.  We opened our doors to seniors who met some of the animals in our care, including some adorable kittens.

“We started our O.A.Tea event as we know that many older people may not be able to have pets of their own, or they may have lost one recently. We wanted to offer an opportunity to get to know some of our residents in need of a home.

“Animals can have positive mental benefits on those around them. They bring so much happiness and from our experience, a lot of laughter.

“We’re delighted to be able to offer the opportunity to experience time with animals.

“The O.A.Tea event will run from 10.15am – 12pm.

“These events are also of huge benefit to the animals in our care to learn socialisation skills and interact with new people. I’m sure they are looking forward to it as much as we are.”

Anyone who is interested in coming to our O.A.Tea event on 22 October should book their place by phoning 01389 761208 or by visiting the centre at Dumbarton Road, Milton, Dumbarton G82 2UA.
