Scottish SPCA desperately looking for home for overlooked senior Tara

The Scottish SPCA is desperately looking for a home for senior girl Tara who has been continuously overlooked for the past 169 days.

Despite issuing multiple rehoming appeals, there has still been no interest in the nine year old Staffordshire bull terrier.

We are caring for Tara at our Lanarkshire Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre.

Gillian Boyle, acting manager of the centre said, “We are desperate to find Tara’s forever home. We have tried various means to get her a home but nobody has shown any interest.

“She is an affectionate girl and, despite her age, is full of energy. She adores being outside and running around.

“The kennel environment has been quite stressful for Tara. Despite receiving lots of affection and care from our team, nothing compares to a loving, secure home.

“Tara has urinary issues so will need her diet to reflect this. Our vet is happy to advise and answer any questions potential owners may have.

“An active home where she can be exercised regularly to keep her physically and mentally stimulated would suit her best.

“As she has been unsure of other dogs in the past, we feel she would suit a household where she can be the only pet. She will also need an adult only home.

“Tara has a huge heart and has a lot of love to give. She just needs her special someone to allow her to be the adoring pet she wants to be.”

Anyone who can offer Tara a home should contact our centre in Lanarkshire on 03000 999 999.
