Help care for animals, raise funds and lots more!
The North Lanarkshire Supporter Group branch of the Scottish SPCA is appealing to animal lovers from the area to help fight cruelty towards animals and take part in their sponsored dog walk on Sunday 21May in Drumpellier Country Park, Coatbridge.
We are inviting people to come along and enjoy a fun afternoon out, while helping raise funds to enable us to continue our work rescuing and rehoming thousands of unwanted and abandoned animals across Scotland.
Sharon Meiklejohn, Scottish SPCA Senior Community Fundraiser said, “We’re calling on animal lovers to join us in our sponsored dog walk.
“Dog owners, friends, family members and enthusiastic walkers alike are all very welcome to come along, enjoy the walk and make a real difference to the lives of animals in their local communities.
“We don’t receive any government or lottery funding which means we rely on the public to be able to continue our work rescuing and rehoming animals in desperate need of our help.”
Dogs should be at least six months old and must be kept on leads at all times. Bitches in season should not be brought to the walk.
Anyone interested in taking part, or requesting sponsorship forms, should contact Mary Stewart on 01236 604040 or 07923 500684 for more information. The walk starts at 1pm and takes place around Drumpellier Country Park.
