A Scottish SPCA inspector who spends her life helping animals will fulfil a lifelong dream when she takes part in this year’s London Marathon to raise funds for the charity.
Stacey Erwin, 34, from Tollcross, has worked for the Scottish SPCA for 10 years, covering the Glasgow area.
She said, “I’ve been running since the age of 11 and the London Marathon is an iconic event that I have always wanted to take part in.
“It’s great that I can raise funds and awareness for the Scottish SPCA at the same time as achieving one of my dreams.
“As I work for the Society, I know first-hand the fantastic work carried out by our staff and volunteers every single day.
“My fundraising target is £1,500 so I’m planning on organising a couple of events to help me reach it.
“I’m going to try a speed dating night and another fundraiser such as a ceilidh or formal dress night so I’m looking for venues in the Glasgow area that I could hold these in as well as a ceilidh band or other type of band.
“If anyone can help with this I would love to hear from them.
“I’m also in need of raffle prizes so if any local businesses are able to donate items this would be hugely appreciated.”
Anyone who can assist with venue hire or raffle prizes is being asked to contact the Scottish SPCA’s fundraising team on 03000 999 999 (option 4).
