We are appealing for blankets for dogs in the care of our Lanarkshire centre

We are appealing to animal lovers to donate blankets for dogs in the care of our Lanarkshire Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre.

Items can be dropped directly at the centre, purchased from our Amazon wishlist or via any other online retailer offering direct delivery.

Centre assistant manager, Carrie Gianelli, said, “We are in need of blankets to keep dogs in our care warm and cosy while they wait for their forever homes.

“These blankets are used in the dogs’ beds to keep dogs like Staffy puppy, Atla, comfortable.

“We can accept new blankets from retailers or used blankets as long as they are in good condition with no tears or holes and have been freshly laundered. We can also accept homemade knitted or crocheted blankets as long as they are tightly woven without large holes in them.

“Unfortunately, we can’t accept pillows or duvets as they are too easily destroyed and the stuffing can be harmful to animals if they ingest it.

“Your support means that we can continue to provide the best care for our animals at our centre.

“We’d be so grateful for any donations that people can spare and we know our dogs will be too.”

Donations of blankets can be dropped at the centre reception between 1pm and 4pm daily at Bothwell Road, Hamilton, ML3 0SB or purchased from the centre’s Amazon wishlist: https://amzn.to/2VSI955
