The Freedom of Information Act 2000 applies to public bodies. As the Scottish SPCA is not a public body and receives no government funding, FOI requests do not apply.

Reports to the Scottish SPCA are in strict confidence and subject to the Data Protection Act 1998.

This means if someone has reported you to us we will not be able to tell you who did so.

The only circumstances in which we would reveal this information is if we were ordered to by a court of law or if we receive a request from a serving police officer investigating a related suspected offence.

Depending on the nature of your complaint we will be able to give you contact details for any appropriate regulatory bodies, such as the Scottish Charity Regulator.
