Whether you are providing a home for a rescued dog, a rehomed cat, a rescued rabbit or are a supporter of the Scottish SPCA and have your own pet already, you can help to raise funds to help the Scottish SPCA and ensure that your pets have the financial security of pet insurance should they suffer an illness or injury.
Option 1: I am rehoming a dog, cat or rabbit from the Scottish SPCA, so how can I help?
When you take your dog, cat or rabbit home you will be provided with four weeks free insurance for your pet. The policy provides the new owners with up to £4,000 worth of vet fees cover offering peace of mind that they can get help towards any unexpected vet bills and the cover starts immediately.
If you then take out a policy with Petplan after this free period, the Scottish SPCA will receive a contribution of 10% of the annual premium from the UK's leading pet insurance company to help the charity continue its vital work to help Scotland's pets.
Ask about insurance when you visit a Scottish SPCA animal rescue and rehoming centre.
Option 2: I already have a pet at home with me. Can I help?
You can take advantage of the offer of four weeks free insurance for any dog, cat or rabbit that you have at home with you. Cover for injury starts immediately and cover for illness begins after 14 days. There is no obligation to continue the insurance after that period but if you do then 10% of the annual premium is given by Petplan to the Scottish SPCA, making it an easy way for you to donate whilst choosing the most popular pet insurance in the UK.

Remember, there is no obligation to continue the insurance in either case but if you do you are helping to raise money for the Scottish SPCA this year and every year that you renew.
So who is Petplan?
Petplan is the UK's favourite pet insurance provider (Datamonitor 2009) and has built close relationships with vets, charities and breeders.
Petplan has been a specialist in pet insurance for over 30 years and has a proven passion for animal welfare. Their comprehensive range of products includes Covered for Life policies which provide cover for an illness into your pet's old age as long as you continue to renew your policy without a break.
Why should I insure my pet?
One in three pets may require urgent veterinary treatment this year (Petplan), which means you are more likely to claim on your pet insurance policy than on your car or home insurance (Allianz insurance plc). Petplan pays out an average of more than £2 million in claims per week.
