A dog who is becoming so stressed in kennels that he keeps injuring his tail is seeking a loving owner to give him a good home.
Staff at our Ayrshire and South West Scotland Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre at Mainholm, Ayr, are desperate to find eight year old lurcher Jetson a loving home before he causes himself any further damage.
Assistant Centre Manager Lynda Hourston said, "Poor Jetson has been in our care for three months now and he's becoming quite upset in the kennel environment.
"He's an active lad with bags of energy who really wants to be playing, walking and having fun with his owners like all pet dogs should.
"Instead he's finding life in here very difficult. He wags his tail like mad whenever anyone comes near him and unfortunately he keeps bursting the tip open so we are constantly bandaging his tail up to let it heal.
"We can't understand why no-one is showing any interest in Jetson because he is one of the friendliest, happiest dogs you could ever meet.
"He's very well behaved, knows all his commands and is really receptive to people and other dogs.
"We're looking for an active person to come forward and offer Jetson a loving home.
"He really deserves a second chance and it's heartbreaking to see him desperately seeking attention as people walk on by.
"We hope that Jetson's ideal owner is out there somewhere as we know he would be so happy to find his forever home soon."
