Get active with the Scottish SPCA in 2012!

Skydiving

It's that time again when we've made New Year's resolutions and are trying really hard to keep them. If yours is to keep fit - or even to get fit - we thought we'd make it a little bit easier by telling you about the fantastic range of events you can get involved in this year to help raise funds for Scotland's abused, abandoned and injured animals.

From running to walking, cycling to skydiving, abseiling to whitewater rafting, we've got something to suit everyone!

The London Marathon is the biggest running event in the world and you can take part in this challenging race to support our work. Or if you fancy running in bonnie Scotland you can also enter the Edinburgh Marathon or Loch Ness Marathon.

If you'd prefer something a bit gentler, the Walk for Scotland is a fun and memorable event in the historic city of Edinburgh for all abilities and you can even enter with your dog!Edinburgh marathon

For the daredevils out there we've got whitewater rafting on the River Tay, a 165 foot abseil down the iconic Forth Rail Bridge or, for the truly brave, skydiving at various locations throughout the country.

What a great way to get active and help Scotland's animals at the same time! For a full list of our fundraising events in 2012 please visit our website.

We're also looking for enthusiastic volunteers who can shake a collection tin for us during Scottish Animal Week which takes place from 3 - 9 September.

If you'd like to take part in an event, volunteer or have a great idea about a fundraising activity you'd like to hold yourself, please contact Sharon Meiklejohn on 03000 999 999 or by email.

AbseilDon't forget, there are lots of other ways you can help us without getting your pulse racing! If you are planning a wedding why not take a look at our gorgeous wedding favours? You can also recycle your old and broken jewellery, used ink cartridges, unwanted CDs and DVDs as well as foreign currency.

If you aren't able to take part in an event this year and aren't already a member of the Scottish SPCA, you can help us continue our vital work by joining for as little as £1 a week.

We look forward to hearing from you in 2012!
