The Scottish SPCA is appealing to animal lovers in Aberdeenshire to consider rehoming one of the many rabbits in its care.
Staff at our Aberdeenshire Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre have already taken in 72 bunnies since the centre opened in June.
Responsible owners who can offer the animals permanent and loving homes are now being encouraged to visit our centre in Drumoak.
Centre Assistant Manager Debbie Innes said, "We're looking after eighteen rabbits at the moment, so they're certainly keeping us very busy.
"Although the majority have arrived in our care as strays, it's possible they have been abandoned as they are in good condition.
"Unfortunately, many people take on animals without fully considering the time and commitment they require and this could be the reason we're seeing such a high number of rabbits coming into our care.
"We would never encourage impulsive rehoming, however, if anyone is thinking of taking on a pet then they should come along to our centre and meet the many rabbits who are looking for their forever homes."
Anyone interested in rehoming an animal can visit our Aberdeenshire Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre in Drumoak from 10am to 4pm seven days a week or call our Animal Helpline on 03000 999 999.
