Blind kitten seeks home

Roland needs a loving new home.

The Scottish SPCA is seeking a special owner for a blind kitten.

Six-month-old Roland arrived in the care of our Dunbartonshire Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre in October after being found as a stray.

When he was examined by a vet it became clear Roland was blind and partially deaf and staff at our centre in Milton are now appealing for a loving home where he will receive the care and attention he needs.

Centre Manager Joe McDade said, "Roland is a friendly, affectionate kitten who, sadly, is blind and slightly deaf.

"He copes very well and appears to be aware when someone enters a room so it's possible he has some sight left.

"Sometimes he knocks over his water dish and can bump into things but other than that he has no problems moving around and uses his litter tray well.

"Roland's new owner should have the time available to ensure he settles into his new home and, of course, he will have to be rehomed as a house cat.

"If picked up very quickly he can get a bit of a fright so he would be best in a home without young children.

"We really hope there's someone out there with a big enough heart to take on this poor little guy as he'll bring his new owner so much joy."

Anyone interested in offering Roland a forever home can visit our Dunbartonshire and West Scotland Centre or call our Animal Helpline on 03000 999 999.
