Elderly cat seeks retirement home

Sweep

The Scottish SPCA is looking for a special person to take on an elderly cat after his owner sadly passed away.

We are currently caring for seventeen-year-old Sweep at our Angus, Fife and Tayside Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre in Dundee.

Staff at our centre at Petterden are now appealing for a kind-hearted person to provide the male cat with a retirement home where he can enjoy the rest of his days.

Centre Assistant Manager Lesley Clark said, "Sweep arrived in our care in sad circumstances when his devoted owner passed away.

"He's a gorgeous wee cat who, unfortunately, has so far been overlooked by visitors to our centre.

"Many people don't even consider rehoming an older animal but they often have so much to offer and Sweep is just the most loving, affectionate cat you could wish to meet.

"We'd really like to find him a nice, quiet home where he can receive the care he deserves. His only request is that he's the only pet in the household.

"At the moment, Sweep is on a diet as he's slightly overweight. He also suffers from some stiffness in his back legs but once he has lost a few pounds this should improve.

"Aside from this, he's in very good health for a cat of his years and really deserves a peaceful, comfortable home to call his own."

Anyone interested in rehoming Sweep can visit our Angus, Fife and Tayside Centre or call our Animal Helpline on 03000 999 999.
