The Scottish SPCA is seeking the owner of a friendly barn owl found by residents in Lanarkshire.
We were called to rescue the bird after members of the public spotted it in Netherton Road, Wishaw, on Tuesday night (27 September).
Scottish SPCA Ambulance Driver Kerry McGuire transported the owl, which has an identity ring, to our Wildlife Rescue Centre at Middlebank, near Dunfermline.
We are not revealing the barn owl's sex or ring number in order to ensure we reunite the bird with the correct owner.
AD McGuire said, "It's such a friendly and tame wee owl. The couple who found it said it approached them and jumped on the lady's hand.
"Often when birds go missing it's because they've flown off from their owners while being exercised.
"There must be someone out there missing an owl and we'd really like to reunite it with its owner."
Anyone missing a barn owl is encouraged to contact our Animal Helpline on 03000 999 999.
