Three-legged husky pup has 'mush' to offer

The Scottish SPCA is seeking a special home for a puppy who has had a tough start in life.

Diesel, a six month old Siberian husky, came in to the care of our Aberdeenshire Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre at Drumoak with a terrible injury to his front leg.

Sadly, the extent of his injury was so severe that vets had no option but to amputate.

Diesel has been recovering from his injuries and we are now desperate to find him a loving home where he can continue to adjust to life on all threes.

Assistant Centre Manager Debbie Innes said, "Diesel is a true canine hero who deserves to know happiness in his life. All he wants is a home where he can love and be loved.

"Despite the trauma he has been through Diesel has never lost his happy-go-lucky attitude towards life.

"This brave boy has coped amazingly well and even within a couple of days of being operated on he showed a resilience and attitude that told us losing a leg was not going to slow him down or affect him in any way."

We are seeking a loving owner who will be able to continue a careful diet and exercise routine to ensure Diesel doesn't put too much pressure on his remaining three legs.

Debbie continued, "Being a young husky Diesel is naturally energetic and he can be quite stubborn and independent, so we're looking for an owner who will not only give him the lifestyle and care he needs, but also invest time and effort in his further training and socialisation.

"Diesel has so much love to give, we just hope the right person is out there for him."
