Diabetic dog needs new home

Roxy

The Scottish SPCA is looking for a special owner to offer a new home to a diabetic dog.

Scotland's animal welfare charity is caring for the one year old female Staffordshire bull terrier, named Roxy, at their Aberdeenshire Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre.

Centre Assistant Manager Debbie Innes said, "We are looking for someone who can give Roxy the special care she needs.

"As she is diabetic, she will require daily insulin and her new owner will need to monitor her diet to keep her condition under control.

"With the correct care and medication there is nothing stopping Roxy enjoying a normal, happy life.

"Roxy's a fantastic little dog who greets everyone with a waggy tail.

"She is also a laid back girl who takes everything in her stride and will make a wonderful pet for someone.

"The staff here will be happy to give any prospective new owners more information about Roxy's condition and advise them on the care she will need."

Anyone interested in rehoming Roxy is invited to call our Animal Helpline on 03000 999 999 and ask to be connected to the Aberdeenshire Centre.
