The Scottish SPCA is asking dog owners in Aberdeenshire to keep their dogs under control after two swans were attacked by dogs on the River Dee.
Both swans were attacked near the Bridge of Dee.
Chief Inspector John Carle said, "This is the second swan we have rescued from the River Dee in as many weeks due to dog attacks.
"The dog has torn a chunk of flesh from the swan's shoulder but the vet is confident it will make a full recovery and will be fit enough to be released in a couple of weeks.
"We are asking all dog owners in the area to be responsible and walk their dog on a lead when they are near swans.
"Anyone who sees an injured swan or a swan being attacked by a dog should call our animal helpline on 03000 999 999."
It is an offence to injure or kill a wild swan under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981.
