The Scottish SPCA is seeking the owner of two pet rabbits mysteriously found in a West Lothian garden.
We were alerted to the lop eared bunnies living under decking at a house on Willow Avenue, Fauldhouse, on Sunday (27 August).
The white and fawn females were taken to our Edinburgh and Lothians Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre in Balerno, where they have been named Thelma and Louise.
Inspector Sarah Gregory said, "Thelma and Louise are lovely rabbits in good condition so we think they have been someone's pets until very recently.
"The man who found them said he returned home from holiday and discovered them under his decking. It seems they've been feeding off plants in his garden.
"Thelma and Louise aren't underweight so we don't think they've been living rough for long.
"They were a little timid at first but they've now come around and are really friendly girls.
"It's possible they've been abandoned by their owner, although they could also have strayed from home.
"We're appealing to the public to help us with our enquiries so we can establish how these rabbits came to be in the garden."
Anyone who recognises Thelma and Louise is being asked to call our Animal Helpline on 03000 999 999.
